Summary:
Supervises the Operations and Commercial staff with the production of new business and servicing of the existing book of business of the department by coordinating the processing of work as per the procedures of the Commercial Lines Department for the New Jersey offices.
In this role, you may interact with clients daily while maintaining strong relationships with client and carrier representatives.
You will manage a book of business consisting of middle market and larger accounts, including the marketing of new and renewal business of large, complex accounts with large premiums and multifaceted coverages.
Many of the accounts are primarily contractors, with a few non-profits, distributors, restaurants, entertainment, attorneys, and real estate.
You will liaise with the producer on the book of business.
This is a fulltime role.
We offer the flexibility of a hybrid schedule with three days from our Voorhees, NJ offices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Collaborate and strategize with producers, marketing and service teams on new business opportunities as well as renewals.
Enhance marketing and underwriting relationships with insurance carriers/wholesalers.
Manage the offices revenue and expense budget process monthly and annually.
Prepare and present the NJ teams Business Plan.
Assist team members with technical, placement and client problems and monitor the status of various projects (i.
e.
renewals, new business) and the department in general and take corrective action where necessary.
Supervises designated staff and manages all personnel issues in conjunction with company policy guidelines, including creation and delivery of employee goals & performance reviews and monitoring and approving time off requests.
Attends regularly scheduled and ad-hoc staff and client meetings.
Assist in the recruitment and interview process for open positions.
Assist in monitoring and directing the flow of work of the department and implement changes as necessary.
Assist staff with complex negotiations or transactions, handling difficult insured or carrier personnel and backlog problems on accounts.
Responsible for keeping up on industry changes and market strategies and communicating information with staff as necessary.
Responsible for training or directing the training of new staff.
Provide bi-weekly update of renewals in process to the Regional Managing Director.
Assist in pre-renewal meetings with staff to discuss upcoming renewals 4 months in advance of renewals.
Communicate updates in NFP processes and procedures, as well as monitor employee compliance.
Monitor various EPIC reports and discuss with staff.
Assist the Regional Managing Director in conducting internal Account Audits for E&O purposes.
Responsible for monitoring & distribution of electronic copies of policies, endorsements, audits, Oversee the wholesaler consolidation efforts for offices and maintain a status spreadsheet.
Liaison with NFP panel groups and NJ service teams to maximize use and efficiency of process.
Reviews and approves time sheets for direct report staff.
SUPERVISORY
Responsibilities:
Will supervise New Jersey staff across two offices.
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Excellent written communication skills writes clearly; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numeric data effectively; able to read and interpret written information Self-confident to make sound independent decisions Ability to successfully interact with a variety of people/personalities Ability to make local NJ/PA on-site client visits/meetings as required Strong leadership skills Must be able to read, analyze and reconcile financial reports Possess technical expertise plus good analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to handle situations in a calm, courteous and professional manner EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
BA/BS preferred.
HS Diploma or equivalent is required Minimum ten years of Commercial Lines property, liability and casualty experience including direct servicing Recent retail brokerage experience required Broker P&C license required upon hire Prior supervisory/management experience required Must know all coverages:
contractors, non-profits, distributors, restaurants, entertainment, attorneys, real estate Can negotiate with carriers, pricing and terms and conditions, and coverage analysis Must be computer literate with proficiency in MS Office Suite Agency Management system fluency is required.
